DFI Day1 - Frustrations and Freedoms
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
I have gained a greater appreciation of the kaupapa and content of the programme's approach. Even though I had spoken to colleagues from the first cohort this year I was still not sure what to expect. The first day has clarified that and given me a proper understanding of the meaning of digital fluency.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
Sitting down and taking the time to learn about the capabilities of the digital tools available now can enhance productivity and self efficacy in their use. With it they can develop a digital literacy that would serve them well in school and in life. However, what today has also highlighted is that content delivered by this means is contingent on access and assumptions that this is equitable are not valid outside of the normal school environment.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
To use the tools I am currently familiar with more fully, effectively and efficiently.
